Happened for a reason

Have you ever felt like something was meant to be?

Like you were in the right place at the right time?  It all happened for a reason?

Maybe it’s the lens I’m looking through. Glass half full type of perspective. But to me it happens often.

Take today for example. I coached for a few hours this morning. On my way home I decided to swing by the gas station in town. Because I was there, I decided to stop by the store. No pressing need. It was a quick trip. In and out empty-handed, I headed home.

As I pulled into my neighborhood I noticed my neighbor across the street opening her front door to leave. I also noticed her car wasn’t there. Strange. And in that moment I felt this strong urge to go ask if she needed a ride.

My neighbor, who I’ve spoken with maybe once over the last year they’ve lived in the house, came right over and thanked me a million times. Said my timing was perfect.

Her daughter took the car to school today and had an allergic reaction. That she was going to be taken by ambulance to the hospital.

She was going to be ok but my neighbor needed a ride to school to get the car to ride to the hospital to be with her daughter. So?

We rushed into my car. Drove over to the school. Found the car in the parking lot. She thanked me a million times and called me her angel. In an incredibly stressful moment for a mother, she had the kindness and compassion to stop, thank me, and call me her angel.

I didn’t need to go to that gas station today. I didn’t need to go to the store today. But? I did. And? It happened for a reason.

Life is hard. And it’s coming at me fast these days. Lots of balls in the air and lots that I've dropped.

But moments like this remind me. It’s all happening for a reason.

It might not be in my time. But the timing is perfect. It’s perspective. It’s grace. It’s kindness. It’s hard.

It’s all happening for a reason.

In Your Corner,

Nikki
